unpopular opinions | book tag

it is a strange feeling to introduce you all to my face. but it is exciting too! I have wanted to make videos for a long while now, but I never had the courage. I am much more familiar with writing than speaking. and then there was always the appeal of hiding behind the anonymity of a blog. but I have been feeling very bold lately, and life is too short not to embrace fun and creative ideas. so, hello readers! here is my first video and my face.

  1. I'm the same with contemporary! It took me ages to find contemporary stories that weren't urban fantasy that I actually enjoyed. But weirdly enough, when I finally found contemporaries that I liked, they ended up becoming some of my top favorite books of all time.

And how did I /know/ you were going to say acotar for that one question! XD It'd be my answer too!

    1. then, I should give some contemporaries a chance! perhaps I will find ones that I love too. do you have any recommendations for that genre?

haha yes!! everyone always references it and talks very highly of the series so I'm not surprised you know of it but I'm also not surprised that you haven't read it haha

    2. Off the top of my head, there's "Fallen Leaves" by Tessa Emily Hall. I disliked the first book "Purple Moons" quite a bit, but this second one was just gorgeous. I also love the first first three books of "The Katie Parker Production" by Jenny B. Jones because the MC's inner dialogue was hilarious! I didn't care for the later books in the series though. (gosh, even within the contemporaries I love, I've got issues with them! is there really no salvaging of that genre?! ) JK, but if you're open to watching Japanese animation, I've loved /their/ contemporary stories. I'd recommend the films "A Silent Voice" and "Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop". (the later film is on Netflix)

Lol, nope! No spicey books for me, thank you very much!

Also, we need to stop 'twinning', because, no joke, I was also thinking of starting a book blog or channel this year! I was inspired by "cups and thoughts" on youtube. (her channel is so warm and cozy)
